PHASE 1 - The "Acceptance" Stage.
Similar to the grieving process, an athlete MUST get to acceptance before they can completely move on.
This is typically the hardest part for an injured athlete and they often athletes skip doing the foundational mental work here.
If you try to just bury your emotions, your mental baggage can haunt you, sometimes for years after an injury.
I bet hearing the word acceptance, you think that all you have to do is say to yourself that you "accept" your injury and you're done.
I wish it were that easy.
To fully recover and come back strong you have to properly integrate your new reality with your old beliefs.
This CLEARS THE MENTAL BAGGAGE and sets up the body for FASTER HEALING AND A FULL RECOVERY.
